Become A Dog Walker

Do you have a love of dogs? There are countless people in your neighborhood who are in need of dog walking services, yet you rarely hear about these types of services being offered. Many couples are both needing to work all day to support their families. The one who ends up suffering is the poor pooch at home. Then when the owners get back home they’re so tired they can’t even take their dog out for a walk. Now what about giving them a bath? You see how many services you can offer now?

Here are some things to be aware of if you want to become a dog walker

  • You can be a dog walker ($20 per walk), a doggy sitter (price negotiable depending on the needs of the dog owner) and you can bathe their pets ($25).
  • It is a ticketable offense to not pick up after your dogs. So be sure and bring some bags with you on your route.
  • You can make more money by walking multiple dogs at the same time, so be sure and let the neighbors of your customers know of your services.
  • Be sure and get some certification of some kind. Learn how to give CPR to animals. Learn how to train dogs. The more certification the more legitimate you become.
  • If you’re just doing it for a few neighbors for some spare change you can probably get away with not having a business license or reporting it on your taxes, but anything more than that and you’ll have to be sure to keep it legit.
